The extend of our physiological and cultural embeddedness across history and nature, the constant enacting, engaging and exchange between body, self and environment, their impact on perception, cognition, learning, identity and relating are being more and more recognized and studied. The body is a prerequistie for culture but also a result of cultural dynamics, which is a fascinating subject to explore and contemplate.
One question that could arise is: are there reservoirs alive in us that are pre-culture, that perhaps help to shed culture and connect us to the fundamental, physiological and fluid dynamics of life as it underlies human cognition, identity and history? Does this place exist? Can it be tasted? And if so, could it impact us not by deleting what we have experienced but by digesting and integrating and by allowing it to be dissolved into our undifferentiated origins.
We will use the somatic practice of Continuum to dive deep and explore these questions.
