Ben Spatz is a nonbinary researcher and theorist of embodied practice. They are Senior Lecturer in Theatre and Performance at University of Huddersfield, author of three books, and founding editor of the videographic Journal of Embodied Research. The phrase “somaticizing the camera” was proposed by Maria Kapsali to describe a research method developed by Ben Spatz with Nazlıhan Eda Erçin and Agnieszka Mendel.
